OUR WATER FILTRATION SAND is extremely effective filter media because of its ability to hold back coagulum or precipitates containing impurities. Filter sand size, angularity and hardness are the important filter sand characteristics to ensure proper filtering.
Our water filter sand is washed four times in our manufacturing process producing a clean filter sand that is virtually silt and fines free. Initial backwash cycles are reduced as well, saving significant amounts of time and water in your start-up backwash cycle.
Calcite
CALCITE on contact with ACIDIC WATER slowly dissolve the calcium carbonate media to raise the Ph content that reduces the potential leaching of cooper, lead and other metals found in typical plumbing systems.
Its main advantage is that it includes a high uniformity coefficient for maximum contact needed for controlled pH correction.
